How $100 Made $1000’s (More Than Once)

Marketing is all about talking to the right customer at the right time in any business. Why do you think companies like Booking.com, DOVE, and Disney spent nearly $7 Million USD on a 30-second TV ad during the 2024 Superbowl?

The right audience and the right time with the right method.

We don’t know exactly how much those companies made from those ads, but they understand that the power of having their brand in front of that many people is worth the investment.

Most E-commerce companies don’t have millions of dollars to spend on TV advertising during major sporting events, but they do have something that can be just as powerful…. Their Database. (Cookies are changing and building your database now has never been so important)

Focusing on your database first

We hear all the time that the goal is more leads, more leads, but SO many businesses need to remember to focus on their database first and that will generate more revenue to spend on getting more leads.

‘“It doesn’t make sense to drive any traffic to a website until you have your email system in place. Every business should have between 30-40% revenue generated from Email.”

  • Ezra Firestone, World’s Leading eCommerce Expert

Are you making 30% of your revenue from email marketing?

On average email marketing makes an ROI (return on investment) of around 3600%.

Real-Life Case Study: Turning $100 into $3,470

The title of the article is “How $100 made $1000’s (more than once)” In fact the first $100 made $3470 and the second $100 made $3375.

In October 2023 we sent an email to our non-client database with a promotion of 5 conversion-designed emails for $500, ($100 per email, I think you get where I’m going).

The look and style of emails has changed over the years, but we have found a formula that looks amazing, reads great, and more importantly lands in the inbox.

One contact, now a client, who took us up on this offer was Johnny. Johnny runs a local, niché business, he’s busy running his business, he understands that he needs to communicate with his database, but doesn’t have time to design, write, and build his newsletters or sales EDM’s (electronics direct marketing), so he turned to us.

We spoke over Zoom briefly to get a good understanding of the business and what he wanted to promote, using his style guide and website, we created the initial email, and with a couple of small changes, the email was ready to be sent… We built the email into his Mailchimp account and scheduled the email…

The email went better than expected, with great open rates, click rates, and the highest-performing email in the last few years, Johnny was very happy with the results.

So we went again… the same thing happened, making slightly less, but still a great result and significant increase.

Since the initial 2 emails, we have moved the account from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, built out a new Welcome series, Abandon carts, Thank You series and are working together on a monthly basis.
